Mental Health Therapist - Part time openings available (2 positions)


 Part time: $30,000-$50,000 per year 



Intentional Journey Counseling is looking to hire 2 part-time therapists in Kalamazoo, MI, for our growing practice! Our practice focus is on trauma work across all ages and work with the LGBTQ+ community. 


We are seeking mental health therapists with strong clinical backgrounds and who have experience and training in the following areas: PTSD, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, young adults, elderly, families, and LGBTQ+. We are looking for clinicians trained or seeking to be trained in EMDR therapy. Stipend will be provided to complete/start training within first 2 months of hire.





Full Time Mental Health Therapist (LMSW, LPC, LMFT) - (1 position) 

 Part time: $60,000-$90,000 per year (plus bonuses) 


Intentional Journey Counseling is looking to hire a full time or part time Marriage and Family Therapist. Candidates must hold a full license in Michigan (LMSW, LMFT, or LPC). We are specifically looking for someone to fill the need in the late afternoons and evenings, due to our growing wait list of families and couples seeking therapy. 

Clinicians should have strong clinical backgrounds and willingness to work with diverse populations and diverse relationship structures (open relationships, separation/divorce, and polyamorous relationships). Clinicians should also have experience with the LGBTQ+ community and familiarity with trauma, depression, and anxiety disorders. Clinicians seeking to be trained in EMDR will be trained within the first 6 months of hire and tuition for training is covered by the practice.



Qualifications & Benefits

We are seeking fully licensed LMSWs, LPCs, and LMFTs.


Therapist Requirements/Qualifications:

  • All candidates are required to be licensed in the state of Michigan as an LMSW, LPC, or LMFT, (other certifications are a plus!)

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in social work, counseling, or psychology

  • 2+ years of clinical work is preferred, with a client facing role

  • Daytime and evening availability

  • Excellent assessment and rapport building skills

  • Organized, reliable, and customer service oriented

  • Ability to work independently

  • Avaiability to work Full Time (25 + client hours per week) or Part Time (12 client hours per week)

  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and insurance

  • Training in EMDR, brainspotting, DBT or CAADC certifications, preferred 

  • Maintain professional liability insurance and licensing
